Are you the best candidate you can be? We all know those pre interview nerves too well. However there are ways you can prepare yourself for an interview, to help you overcome those fears.

Do you know you? Review your CV, make sure you know your work experience and skills. It is common for interviewers to want to run through your CV and you will be expected to elaborate on previous positions, achievements, a specific skill or something else you may not have thought about for a while.

Be one step ahead, research the company that you have the interview with and come up with some intelligent questions. Showing that you have put in the effort will give you extra points by demonstrating a genuine motivation to work for them.

Although you cannot prepare for everything, prepare answers to common interview questions like ‘tell me about yourself’ and ‘why do you want this job?’. Having a stack of examples up your sleeve will really help combat nerves.

There are many different types of interviews, so ask your recruiter what type it will be - one to one, group, competency or strengths based. If you’re more prepared you will feel more confident. Look out for our other blogs which go into more detail on the different interview types.

Going on an interview? Good luck, you’ll be great when keeping these tips in mind.
